What This Site Knows About You

This page covers tanookistudios.com only. The apps have their own privacy policies, which ship with them, and most of them collect nothing at all.

No Tracking

There are no analytics on this website. No Google Analytics, no Plausible, no Meta pixel, no advertising or attribution scripts, and no cookies set for tracking. Nothing on any page reports back that you visited it.

The site stores exactly one thing in your browser: if you use the light/dark toggle, your choice is saved in localStorage under ts-theme so the page doesn't forget it. It never leaves your device and it isn't a cookie. Clear your browser data and it's gone.

Fonts are served from this domain rather than from Google Fonts, so loading a page here does not tell a third party anything about you.

The Two Forms

If you use the contact form, we store the name, email address, topic, app and message you typed. If you use the beta signup form, we store your email address, your name if you gave one, which apps and platforms you ticked, and any note you wrote.

Both also record the time you submitted and a truncated browser user-agent string, which exists solely to help spot automated spam.

To stop a bot filling the database, the server briefly keeps a one-way hash of your IP address — scrambled with a secret so it can't be turned back into an address — in a separate table that is wiped every hour. It is never attached to your message or your signup, so nothing we keep about you can be traced back to a network address. Your raw IP is never written down.

What It's Used For

• Replying to you.
• Inviting you to test the specific apps you asked to test.
• Telling you when a build of one of those apps is ready.

That's the complete list. Your details are not sold, not rented, not shared with advertisers, not used to build a profile, and not added to any newsletter. There is no newsletter.

Where It Lives

Submissions are stored in a Cloudflare D1 database and the site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages, so Cloudflare processes this data on our behalf. A copy of each submission is also emailed to Madilyn so it can actually be answered; that email is delivered by Resend. Those two companies are the only third parties involved, and neither is permitted to use your data for their own purposes.

How Long We Keep It

Contact messages are kept for as long as the conversation is useful and deleted within two years. Beta signups are kept until you ask to come off the list, or until the app you signed up for is released and the testing programme closes.

Getting Your Data Back Or Deleted

Email hello@tanookistudios.com and ask. You can request a copy of everything held about you, a correction, or complete deletion, and there's no form to fill in and nothing to prove. It's one person and a small database — this takes minutes, not weeks.

If you're in the UK, EU or a US state with its own privacy law, those rights are yours by statute as well. We apply them to everybody regardless of where you live, because having two tiers of privacy depending on someone's postcode is silly.

Children

This site isn't aimed at children and we don't knowingly collect anything from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has submitted a form here, email us and it'll be deleted.

Changes

If this policy changes in a way that matters, the date at the top changes and the previous version stays in the site's public git history.
