Tanooki Studios is an independent software studio run by one autistic developer. I make straightforward apps for Apple devices and desktop computers, usually because I wanted a tool like it and could not find one that felt right.
The goal is simple: useful software, honest privacy, and pricing that does not treat people like an endlessly refillable wallet. Your data stays on your device whenever possible, and when an app needs an internet connection, I explain what it is doing before you use it.

Built to run where you are
If an app can do the work on your device, it does. No unnecessary servers, subscriptions, or remote dependency for something your computer can already handle.
An account only when there is no way around it
Some of these genuinely cannot work without a login — if a thing syncs between your phone and your Mac, it has to know whose it is. Where an app can work without an account, it does, and I will not invent a reason to ask. Where it can't, I will tell you that plainly instead of calling it a feature.
Clear about connections
Some features need the internet. When they do, I explain what connects, what information is involved, and why. No hidden analytics or vague “experience improvement” nonsense.
